Shéhérazade Semsar-de Boisséson is a Senior Advisor to McCourt Global. In this role, she advises on McCourt’s interests in Europe and the MENA region, with a focus on Olympique de Marseille, where she serves as Vice-President of the Supervisory Board and on the Board of France’s professional football league, Ligue de Football Professionnel.
Shéhérazade previously served as Chief Executive Officer of McCourt Global from 2023 to 2026, during which she helped institutionalize the company’s oversight of its verticals and supported the launch and growth of new initiatives.
An entrepreneur and investor throughout her career, Shéhérazade founded Development Institute International (DII) in 1993, which grew to become one of France’s leading professional conference providers. She later acquired European Voice, the leading media outlet in Brussels covering E.U. policy, from the Economist Group in 2013, and as publisher and owner relaunched its website and created new services. In December 2014, POLITICO and Axel Springer acquired European Voice and DII, and Semsar-de Boisséson became the founding CEO of POLITICO Europe. She stepped down at her request in 2021, and served for two years on the Advisory Board of POLITICO Media Group.
Shéhérazade graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1990 with a B.A. and an M.S. in International Finance; she later served as a member of Georgetown’s Board of Directors from 2013 to 2019.
